Pig-latin EVP Project

Synopsis

EVP, or Electronic Voice Phenonenon, is a technique used by paranormal investigators to record supposed voices from inter-dimensional entities using audio equipment. A typical session consists of the experimenter asking questions to a recording audio device, then listening for faint responses after recording. This technique was originally developed by Dr. Konstantin Raudive in 1971 and detailed in his book "Breakthrough: An amazing experiment in electronic communication with the dead" (Raudive 1971). In, practice responses are often difficult to understand, and subject to audible pareidolia (imaginative interpretation), thus the designation of "classes" A, B or C. Often the responses are simple mechanical environmental sounds or even worse, human voice contamination from other humans present at an investigation.

This project proposes a novel technique -- using "Pig-Latin" for questions and responses during the EVP session. The use of Pig-Latin would greatly reduce misinterpretation of responses, while providing evidence of session context.
