I've been offline several months due to illness and relocation to Denison, Texas. I hope all that's behind me now. I lost 5+ months due to Congestive Heart Failure and the West Nile virus while trying to relocate to Denison, Texas. It's been a wild ride to say the least. I'm currently trying to reinstate my cameras in my new location.

I'm thinking about putting additional restrictions on the designation UAP to eliminate the possibility of objects that appear to be moving hypersonic but are, in fact, just in-focus, nondescript objects. Object must be observed moving behind or among cloud cover or at least have a well-defined anomalous shape. At times I capture many "fast" moving object that are rod or sphere shape and I'm reluctant to call one a UAP. Best to err on the cautious side I think.

Captured a very strange anomaly passing among the clouds. Do not know what to make of it. I've posted the video around looking for ideas. Rating is UCR 9 (does not exhibit hypersonic velocity but all others).

My search for UAPs is mostly at random. I point 2 synchronized cameras along with a 3rd at a random small section of sky. Yesterday I captured a Valentine's Day mylar balloon by accident. Just shows how common these "UFOs" might be...

I'm working on a UAP confidence score for my UAP captures. The score will apply a computed UCR score to captures to indicate to confidence a capture is, in fact, a UAP. The 5 Observables will be part of the score, but just as importantly, the capture techniques (e.g. two cameras or not) and capture quality. The higher the rating, the more confidence we have in our "Unknown" and "Anomaly" designation.
UCR 10

Built charts for various sized aircraft at various altitudes. Now, I need to categorizes some common ones.
Also switched to. dark red (840nm) IR filter on Sony FX30. Reviewing footage this afternoon.

Okay, the distance to the Casey's down the street is 740m. To the cell towers it's 1600m. I'm estimating a pickup truck at about 3m in length. At Casey's, a truck measures 7cm on my monitor when the Amcrest cam is set to 10x. A commercial jet is about 50m in length. This means it would appear 1.17 m in width on my Sony 75" monitor if sitting in Casey's parking lot. Using the relationship 2d => w/2 (double the distance implies width appears 1/2), I constructed the table for a commercial jet (50m length). The last 2 columns calculate the true altitude since the camera is measuring the hypotenuse at 45 degrees (altitude = d * sin(45). Now, the key is to know what aircraft I'm looking at. I'm thinking Flight Radar 24?

Building a pragmatic formula today to measure distance using known object sizes and known distance using Google Map. It's start.

The most challenging aspect of my UAP Capture Project has been determining the distance of an object in the sky from the camera. Without distance, the velocity of the object is just a guess. So far, I'm trying to determine size and relative position to known aerial objects. I'm still working on this gnarly problem and will keep you updated. For an idea of the far-reaching ramifications of this problem, see Mick West's debunking of the "Go Fast" UAP's velocity. Ideas are welcome!

When the term "UAP" was first introduced to replace "UFO" I was a bit miffed. Now that I've had time to reflect I've decided it's a better, more granular tag. It's a two-part designation. Unidentified Anomalous Phenomenon. Unidentified -- we don't know what it is. Anomalous -- it demonstrates unexplainable behavior. And lastly Phenomenon -- an event. The first two words are essential. It must be Unidentified AND Anomalous. Just Unidentified is insufficient! The last word, "Phenomenon", is unnecessary. I prefer UA, "Unidentified Anomaly" (UA) personally.

I'd really, really love it if paranormal "investigators" would stop inventing explanations for phenomena that's already dubious. Consider an already unproven explanation for a phenomenon such as a possible UAP and then add "it came through a portal" when you haven't established the anomaly as a UAP yet let alone your embellishment. You've now transformed a potentially serious investigation to a fairy tale. Congratulations.
